Twilight Nights

Yeah, so basically my new blog is my twitter account. I don't know why. That site sucks. But I can just put short little blurbs about what's going on. Nice and easy. And there's really no one on there to censor me. So that's cool too. Just hit up some Midnight Twilight last night. Wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but yeah. Got some extra sleep in this morning. Like 10am. That was cool. I'm out though. And I am making small strides in trying to get caught up on SI. Wish me luckkkk :)

Lost Spark

Here we go now. Already starting. I was just reading through some old posts and saw how pumped I was for hockey last season, and how bad I wanted to be on a winning team and go the distance. I just don't feel that this year. No real excitement. Sure I still love to play hockey, but that spark from last year is gone, despite me being on a really good Farmington Hills team. Maybe because I'm not a second year leader? Or am I just getting older? Hope I can revive that spark and feeling. Because after reading that I realize how much I miss that feeling... I'll keep you updated... Sad though. Maybe all that losing got to me? My mind just no longer deems winning possible? Haha, anyways, we're on the ice Tuesday. Should be fun. Isn't this too many characters for Twitter though? Ha.

Twitterific

Just got this cute little laptop. I'm gonna try to go more of Twitter mode on this blog. Lot's of really short posts instead of just a few really long ones. Ya know? It's just, usually when I start typing on here, I don't want to stop, so it turns into a really long post. But yeah, I'm done for now. We'll see how this new strategy works out, and if I remember to even come on here and execute the strategy. But I'm out. Peace.

National Energy Day

Have a game against the Energy today, which we will get destroyed in. With our seven suspensions and no goalie situation and everything. And the Energy are insane. But first I have to watch Game 6 between the Flyers and Pens. And I guess today is National Penguin Day. Haha, that's funny. And the NFL Draft at the same time. So I'll have to double task. May be going to Dad's tonight as well. Don't really know. But I'm out.

Going South

Yet another Friday off today. I didn't really do too much. I watched the first couple episodes of that new show "Southland" that I had recorded. It was pretty cool, but it wasn't all that great. Better than Numb3rs though. I'm almost done with Season 2 of that show, and it's really getting old. And all the arguements and stuff are really fake... and you always know how the episdoe is going to end. But I guess I'm going to keep up with it into Season 3 because Drake still likes it and what not. And I don't know if I mentioned my plan on here yet, but my idea is to watch every major motion picture of 2009. And Drake joined in with me in my quest. Though we're pretty behind, but it's still early. We each have like 5 check off, out of like 30 that have been released so far. Haha, and spring hockey started with a 5-1 loss to the Moose, and 7 of our players were suspended in the process. And we must have had about 15 penalties to their 5. So I basically accept now that we are done, and may not even win a game this year. But I am having fun, and do like everyone on the team, so I guess that's all that rally matters. Haha, and in that lot of suspended players, our goalie was suspended 3 games for fighting, so I really have no idea what we're going to do. Game tomorrow. And the Flyers forced a Game 6 with the Penguins, which is also tomorrow afternoon, on top of the NFL Draft. But I'm done. Thought I would just get something down. Peace.

Numbers Countdown

Thought that I should put something down. Had a good day of basketball up at Taylor. Watched the Wings take a 2-0 series lead on the Blue Jackets. Last non-school night of Spring Break. I'm trying to finish up Numb3rs season 2 before break ends, but it will be tough with the episodes being 40 minutes long. And I have 5 episodes left. And the whole thing with having to wait for Drake... I don't know. I'm going to try, but it will be tough. And I have basically stopped reading anything all together. I have a nice big stack of SI's to be read. Mainly because I used to read those all the time during school, but now I just don't have time. And Drake and I have started playing Wii Golfing quite a bit too over break. First spring game tomorrow too against the Moose. Should be fun. I like all the kids on my team, though I just don't think we'll be all that good. That's all I have though. I'm out. Peace.

Pizza Playoffs

Well, my team obviously didn't make it to districts, because we lost in what was the basic playoff for districts 8-1 to the Flames, who by the way are now district champs after beat the Farmington Hills Shamrocks (the team that I almost transferred to at Xmas time) 5-2. Though, I guess there is some weird thing going on so now they both are going to states. Dad has now moved in with Bethy and they have redone the basement just for us. This weekend we went over there and just basically played xbox the whole time with Call of Duty 4 and GTA 4. I don't know, there's really not that much else going on. We went 4-0 in the first round of Little Ceasars, so we're obviouly going on to the next round. I had one good game at Melvindale against Allen Park where I got a hattrick and we won 5-3. And then last night we beat Novi 3-2 and I got a playmaker. And a couple weeks ago I set a personal record with a 6 (six) goal game against St. Clair Shores. I still haven't even touched my yearbook pages yet. That's about it though. Owen's here and I'm out. PEace.

Study Questions

1) Dante’s exile was due to his association with the “whites”; a group that opposed the Papacy. He later tried to make a return to politics, though ultimately failed and was never truly accepted ever again. The journey of his exile and attempt to return home was the inspiration for Dante’s Inferno. His two tour guides along the way are Virgil and Beatrice.
2) Hell is organized in the order of the severity of the sin(s) that were committed by the person. It is like this to show that Dante is descending deeper and deeper in Hell. Dante wrote his masterpiece in Italian to establish himself as the first great Italian writer, as well as to have his own style and make the story open to a wider audience.
3) The three animals are the leopard, the lion, and the she-wolf. When he climbs the hill, it represents the journey to salvation. The beasts represent sin and things that we must conquer and get past in order to achieve salvation.
4) Dante says Virgil is a discolored air and a friendless waste. Virgil is Dante’s guide because he wants to take after Virgil’s (as well as Homer’s) style of writing. The straight road symbolizes the path to Heaven which is inhabited with different things blocking it, which represent sin. The dark wood also symbolizes evil.
5) Virgil tells Dante to not lose hope during his journey in Hell. Charon does not agree with the idea of Dante going into Hell, though Virgil states that it is God’s will for this to happen.
6) The souls tortured in Canto III are those who chose sin over goodness and God, as well as those who did not take a side in the rebellion against God during the Angelic Wars. The souls are tortured because they failed to commit.
7) Minos is the creature who guards the circle of Hell in Canto V. He judges the souls when they confess to him what they have done. He then places the souls in the section of Hell that they deserve to be in due to the severity of their sin(s).
8) Paolo and Francesca’s killer will go to the first ring of the last circle of Hell when he dies because he performed the acts of treachery against his kin. However, Dante feels sympathy for them because it was done out of love.
9) The figures in Satan’s mouth are considered traitors because sinned and betrayed some of the greatest men to ever live on earth. Judas betrayed Jesus at the Last Supper, and Brutus and Cassius betrayed Caesar. A frozen lake represents the most terrible part of Hell because it shows the cold heartedness of the inhabitants it holds.
